Toffee Pear Galettes

Serves 4

Ingredients

2 ripe pears, peeled

1 sheet ready rolled puff pastry, cut into 4 circles

2 tablespoons Dulce de Leche or other thick toffee sauce

1 egg white, whisked lightly to glaze

Crème fraiche to serve

Method

  • Heat the oven to 200C / fan 180C / Gas 6.
  • Halve and core the pears, slice down lengthways leaving them joined at the stalk end.
  • Lay the pastry circles on a baking sheet. Score a border around the centre of each circle to create a frame.
  • Put ½ spoonful of dulce de leche in the centre of each circle and fan a pear out on top.
  • Glaze the edges then bake for 20 - 25 minutes or until puffed up and golden.
  • Serve with a dollop of crème fraiche.
