Horseradish Spiked Potato and Fontina Gratin

Ingredients
1kg / 2lb 4oz waxy potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
200g / 7oz Fontina or Gruyere cheese, sliced
250ml / 9floz double cream
150ml / ¼ pint milk
5 tablespoons horseradish
Salt and pepper
You will need a 2 litre / 3 ½ pint shallow ovenproof dish.
Method
- Preheat the oven to 190C, 375F, Gas mark 5.
- Arrange the potatoes and cheese in the dish, seasoning well between layers.
- Mix together the remaining ingredients and season well.
- Pour over the potatoes and cheese mixture and bake for 1 hour until the potatoes are tender and browned on top.
- This is perfect served with a green salad.
