Tips ~ Substitute red wine for some of the beef stock to givea richer flavour to the meat sauce.


1 tbsp olive oil

2 onions, chopped

1 garlic clove, crushed

500g/1lb 2oz lean minced beef

2 level tbsp tomato puree

2 level tbsp plain flour

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

450ml/ ¾ pint beef stock

2 bay leaves

400g can chopped tomatoes

Salt and pepper

1 pack lasagne sheets, either fresh or 'no cook' dried lasagne

For the white sauce:

25g/1oz butter

40g/1 ½ oz plain flour

450ml / ¾ pint milk

25g/1oz parmesan cheese, grated
